Alisa Brace is a proud fourth generation farmer from the Sundre area and from a young age had a deep passion for rodeo and the western way of life.
Alisa’s dream came true in 2017 when she was crowned Miss Rodeo Sundre 2017, a title she then took to the Miss Rodeo Canada Pageant, where she represented her favourite town and rodeo during an amazing year.
After receiving many scholarships during her time in college to become a Registered Veterinary Technician, she gained an appreciation for any scholarship aimed at providing young people with the opportunity to better themselves and believes that the La Due Ladies Lunch embodies that completely.
She is beyond thrilled to be a part of the team this year and looks forward to meeting the lucky young women who will be the 2023 recipients!
The La Due Ladies Lunch Scholarship Program has awarded over $100,000 to young women in Alberta since it’s inception! The award offers two distinct categories for promising young women in both High School and those pursuing post-secondary education. The 2023 applicants of the La Due Ladies Lunch Scholarships will have the chance to receive $15,500 in awards!
Additionally, La Due Ladies Lunch also provides an annual scholarship of $1,500 to the current reigning Miss Rodeo Canada. And in 2023 La Due Ladies Lunch is introducing a new scholarship in partnership with the Haskayne School of Business of $2,500. This makes a total of $19,500 of La Due Ladies Lunch Scholarships to be awarded each year.
La Due Ladies Lunch is grateful for its ongoing partnership with the Calgary Stampede Foundation. With it’s mission of “providing the youth of Alberta with the opportunity to develop strong roots in their culture and heritage through programs that enhance personal growth, citizenship and education”, the Foundation was a perfect fit for the La Due Ladies Lunch and it’s scholarship program. All funds raised for the La Due Scholarship Fund are housed under the CS Foundation and any direct contributions to the scholarship fund are eligible for a tax receipt. All successful recipients will apply directly to the CS Foundation to obtain their La Due Scholarship Funds.
