LaDue Ladies Lunch Scholarship Program Application Package

Since its inception the LaDue Ladies Lunch Scholarship Program has proudly awarded more than $110,00 to young women across Alberta.  Our mission is to empower the next generation by providing meaningful financial support to those pursuing post-secondary education. The program supports students who are graduating high school and entering post-secondary education, as well as those already enrolled in post-secondary studies.

Each year, eligible applicants have the opportunity to apply for a share of $16,500 in scholarship awards through the LaDue Ladies Lunch Foundation Scholarship Program.

Three awards will be offered for Post-Secondary education for both of the Cowgirl Tough and Cowgirl Spirit Categories:

  • First place: $4,000
  • Second place: $2,750
  • Third place: $1,500
Eligibility Requirements

To apply, applicants must:

  • Be female and reside in the province of Alberta 
  • Be either:

*Post secondary entrants – students graduating from high school and pursuing post secondary education, or

 *Post-secondary continuing students – students currently enrolled in a post secondary program who demonstrate ongoing academic commitment and achievement

  • Submit a complete application, including:
    • A maximum of 700 – word essay, and
    • A list of accomplishments, including academics, extracurricular activities, community involvement, leadership or Western lifestyle participation.
Western Heritage & Personal Attributes

Applicants must: 

  • Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of Western Lifestyle and heritage
  • Exhibit Cowgirl Spirit or Cowgirl Toughness

Award Requirements

Successful applicants must:

  • Provide proof that scholarship funds will be applied towards eligible education costs
  • Submit all required documentation as outlined by our partner, the Calgary Stampede Foundation, which administers scholarship disbursements on behalf of the LaDue Ladies Lunch Foundation.  The application and contact information will be provided to those who qualified for the scholarship award.  All documentation must be submitted to the Calgary Stampede Foundation not later than December 7th in the year in which the the award is offered.
Instructions for Applicants

Welcome to the LaDue Ladies Lunch Foundation Scholarship Program Application. Please review all of the information carefully. Applicants must complete each section in full before advancing to the next part of the application. This application contains 8 sections to be completed.

SECTION 1 – INTRODUCTION

Review the program and overview, eligibility requirements, award disbursement information and definitions included at the beginning of this package. Confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements before beginning your application.

SECTION 2 – PERSONAL & CONTACT INFORMATION

Provide accurate, up-to-date details including:

  • Full legal name
  • Mailing address
  • Email and phone number
  • Date of birth
  • School information
  • Any other details requested within this section

 

All fields must be completed.

SECTION 3 – SELECT YOUR SCHOOL CATEGORY

Please select on of the following academic categories:

  • Post-Secondary Entrant
    (Graduating high school and entering post-secondary education)
  • Post-Secondary Continuing Student
    (Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with demonstrated academic commitment)
SECTION 4 – SELECT YOUR THEME CATEGORY

Choose the essay theme category that best reflects your experiences or perspective.  Detailed descriptions of each theme are provided within the application.

SECTION 5 – UPLOAD YOUR ESSAY

Upload a Word document (.doc or .docx) containing your essay.

  • Maximum 700 words
  • Must follow your selected theme category
  • Click on the included link to review full Essay Requirements

 

Your essay must be uploaded before continuing.

SECTION 6 – UPLOAD YOUR LIST OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Upload a word document outline your achievements.  Consider including:

  • Academic accomplishments
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Community Service
  • Leadership roles
  • Western lifestyle involvement
  • Awards and recognitions
SECTION 7 – UPLOAD YOUR REPORT CARD OR PROOF OF ENROLLMENT

Submit one of the following:

  • A scanned image of your most recent report card, or
  • A PDF document showing proof of current enrollment

 

All documents must be clearly readable.

SECTION 8 – PARENT/GUARDIAN DECLARATION (if applicant is under 18)

Applicants younger than 18 must provide a signed declaration from parent or guardian.

IMPORTANT

You must complete each section fully before the system will allow you to proceed to the next step,  Incomplete applications cannot be submitted.
